How Does Opus Work? 

Opus both tightens and ablates the skin. It uses cutting-edge plasma technology to send heat into the dermis layer of the skin. This creates microscopic injuries deep in the skin in the areas of the face where wrinkles, age spots, sun damage or other imperfections are present. As these microinjuries heal, it helps to stimulate collagen and elastin growth for firmer and more even toned skin. Additionally, radiofrequency tightens the superficial layers of the skin as the deeper injuries heal. This means, not only will you see an improvement in the appearance of your skin immediately, but your skin becomes stronger and firmer over time.

How is Opus Different? 

Unlike other skin resurfacing devices, the treatment intensity can be adjusted with Opus. This means young skin can be treated to prevent signs of aging, while older skin can be treated to remove deep wrinkles and skin laxity.

How Many Treatments Will I Need? 

Although most people will see results after just one treatment, we typically recommend three treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, for optimal results. Additionally, each person has unique skin concerns, and the number of treatments may vary depending on your skin’s particular needs.

What Should I Expect During My Procedure? 

This procedure can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes but expect to spend an hour in our office as we take before photos at every visit and place numbing medication on your face for 20-30 minutes prior to starting the actual procedure.

What Is the Downtime? 

You should avoid direct sunlight, harsh chemicals, and/or scrubbing the treated area for at least 5 days after your Opus treatment. Most redness is gone within 3-5 days. The feeling of being hot and any post-procedure discomfort is typically gone by the next day.
